Liberty Weekend
The annual event in Brooklyn commemorating the anniversary of the New Utrecht Liberty Pole took place this weekend. This year in two days instead of the usual three, which I found much more pleasant. Friday consisted of a visit from several hundred students from local schools. Today George gave a lecture inside of the parish house while I spoke to folks at the Field Hospital. The day ended with a wreath laying ceremony at the Liberty Pole. The event is hosted by The Friends of Historic New Utrecht. Photos courtesy of Jackie Geis.
