The approach of Hurricane Sandy did not sway the 67th NY from going ahead with the annual event in Sayville.
Nor did it keep the spectators from visiting. We enjoyed comfortable weather on Friday and Saturday. There was the usual battle skirmish, camp life demonstrations, and I even had the opportunity to "bloody up" a few volunteers. By Sunday morning, the skies were giving us an obvious warning that could not be ignored. We broke camp and headed home.
