George and I will be in Gettysburg this coming weekend for our annual Adopt-a-Line volunteer service. At 8:45 on Saturday morning, we'll do a quick clean up at the Camp Letterman monument on York Ave. Then we'll head over to the 14th's monument at McPherson's Ridge. We should be there by 9. From there, it's off to The Railroad Cut, and Culp's Hill.
When our chores are completed, we'll be hopping over to Fort Frederick, Md, for the Market Fair.
On 5/31 and 6/1, we'll be at the Liberty Weekend festivities in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. This event is sponsored by the "Friends of Historic New Utrecht".
Regarding the 150th Gettysburg, we won't be participating in any of the battle reenactments outside of the park. We will be involved in the Park Service living history by the Pennsylvania Monument though. We'll be setting up on 6/30 and staying until the morning of 7/4. From what I'm told, there will be quite a few military there as well, so we'll (Society of Civil War Surgeons) be setting up our Field Hospital on the other side of Pleasonton Ave, across from our usual August location.
