This is the first time that I participated in this annual event out in George's neck of the woods. We set up a small medical display. The 67th NY were there as well. We were packed into a parking lot next to US Army recruiters with blaring music and power generator, a couple of tanks, Sea Cadets, the American Legion, as well as other Veterans groups. Personally, I found it uncomfortable. Not because of the company, but of how it was set up. We were out of place. I would not look forward to doing this again as it was.
On the bright side, George was in his element. Hobnobbing with politicians and fellow retired military veterans.
