Yesterday's annual "American Heritage Living History Day" at Somers Intermediate School in Somers NY was, as usual, a success.
The day began with a flag raising ceremony in front of the school honoring our nation's fallen heroes.
In attendance, aside from yours truly (George fell ill last minute and was unable to attend), were about 40 other living historians from Rev War up to and including WWII. There were also local veterans, first responders, school students and faculty, and politicians.
Afterwards, we historians split up for a day of demonstrations and lectures. Myself setting up a small medical display in a classroom.
I do enjoy this event very much and always look forward to it.
Next year should be even more enjoyable for me as I may be setting up a larger "Field Hospital" on the school lawn.
As usual, I have no photos, but will post some if I can find any others online.
Next stop. FHNU "Day with Students" on 5/29 in Brooklyn.
