In Memorium

560a1424a0a2e_image.jpg We are saddened to report the passing of our good friend James A. Getty on Sept. 26th in Gettysburg.
Jim was best known to all of us for his magnificent portrayal of our 16th President.
Born in Fairbury, Ill on Jan. 17, 1932, he grew up in Colfax, Ill and received degrees from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he met his wife Joanne. They married in 1952.
Jim was a Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean War.
Before moving to Gettysburg in 1977, he taught choral music in several schools, and directed choirs as well.
For the past four decades, his career has been devoted strictly towards his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, children, grand children, as well as great and great-great grandchildren.
Jim was 83. RIP.
