On May 31 and June 1, George and I participated in The Friends of Historic New Utrecht's annual "Liberty Weekend" in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
We spoke to local school children on Friday and neighborhood folk on Saturday.
The celebration commemorates the anniversary of the first raising of the American flag on the "Liberty Pole" when the British evacuated New York at the end of the Revolutionary War.
